The Project: This complete pool renovation addressed both the visible finishes and the underlying mechanical and structural systems. The project included structural skimmer replacement, new Jandy equipment, electrical upgrades, deck resurfacing, expansion-joint replacement, new travertine coping, glass tile, natural stone and a new StoneScapes interior finish.

The Structural & Mechanical Overhaul

Before the beauty, comes the bones. We addressed the underlying integrity of the pool with heavy-duty structural upgrades:

  • Structural Skimmer Replacement: We demoed and replaced both skimmers, anchoring the new units securely to the pool wall using rebar dowels drilled and epoxied directly into the concrete framework.

  • The Jandy ProEdge Suite: As a registered Jandy ProEdge Professional, we upgraded the mechanical pad to a high-efficiency system, including a Jandy 2.7 HP ePump, a massive 460 SqFt Pro Series Cartridge Filter, electronic valve actuators, and Neverlube Diverter Valves individually plumbed to each skimmer for ultimate water balancing control.

  • Code-Compliant Power: Installed a dedicated Siemens sub-panel with a 2-pole 20 Amp GFCI breaker to ensure the entire system meets rigid national safety standards.

  • Smart Cleaning: We removed the old, energy-wasting booster pump and gifted the homeowner a tethered Polaris Alpha iQ Robotic Cleaner with Caddy for autonomous, low-voltage maintenance.

The Decking & Expansion Joints

  • Spray Deck Over CarveStone: We stripped down the existing deck sealant, performed a deep clean, and applied a high-performance Spray Deck overlay (using a premium SGM Color Guard topcoat), perfectly leveling it with the new travertine edge.

  • Seamless Details: Cleaned the 2" channel drains and custom-painted the skimmer lids and drain tops to blend invisibly into the new deck.

  • The Expansion Joints: Stripped out old, failing joint materials and installed fresh elastomeric sealant, finishing the top layer with embedded sand for a clean, natural texture that allows the deck and coping to flex safely without cracking.

  • The Features & Wall: Clad the raised beam and outer spa wall in dramatic Supreme White Split-Face Natural Rock, creating a stunning three-dimensional focal point.

  • The Coping: Saw-cut and demolished the old sandstone, replacing it with a flawless 12" Silver Travertine coping on the pool and a bold 16" natural stone coping on the spa.

We protected the homeowner's investment with our comprehensive Signature Startup, providing daily brushing and chemical balancing for the critical first 4 days, followed by twice-weekly servicing for the next 3 weeks to ensure a flawless, long-lasting plaster cure.

  • The Step & Bench Accents: Instead of standard markers, we installed NPT Baroque Blue 1" x 2" Glossy Tile along the outer edges of the steps and benches. This gorgeous, textured tile resembles a watercolor painting—blending deep ocean blues with earthy browns to provide a high-contrast visual cue for safe entry.

  • The Smart Hardware Upgrade: To complete the transformation, we installed a premium color-matched composite handrail. Engineered specifically for the Texas sun, this composite rail stays completely cool to the touch on hot summer days and will never rust or corrode.

  • The Smart System Upgrade: We replaced the outdated equipment with a high-performance Jandy 1.85hp Variable Speed Pump. With the integrated IQPump01 Wi-Fi Controller, the homeowner now has total control over their pool from their smartphone, including automated freeze protection.
